I keep reading various articles about the quarantine measures in Europe, particularly in Italy. They seem to be spinning the lockdowns as positive, as a “chance to celebrate life”, and whatnot. In every other article about the virus or the societal effects, they spell doom and gloom yet…they act like quarantine life is perfect and we should embrace it. Maybe it’s just me, but this is yet another aspect that seems off.
It almost feels like lulling people into a false security of the idea of being locked in one location for an extended amount of time. The people they interview in Italy are also, apparently, having the times of their lives in quarantine and state that it’s the right/best thing to do.
Any thoughts on this? It just seems so…strange to make these fluff pieces on quarantine.
