Afghanistan was not just a military defeat for Washington, but a cultural one as well. A 20 year occupation that did not change a single mind. Even collaborators were just doing it for money. 0 ideological conviction.
Afghans are a notoriously obstinate people. Islam is a more enduring philosophy than wokeness.
