This is Why I Don’t Buy the “big business controls the state” Narrative Pushed by the Progressive-left and Some Wignats

by Chris Black

It’s an obfuscation… the state ultimately has the upper hand over business and force these companies to lobby them for favorable treatment.

Microsoft didn’t start lobbying the government until after an anti-trust lawsuit was brought against them.

Still I think breaking up these companies into smaller ones would be a net positive for us even though it probably wouldn’t change anything on the free speech front, as the smaller iterations would do the same shit.

When big business and socialists agree.

The reason they want this is because it will hurt Amazon’s competitors, especially smaller businesses who can’t afford to pay that and remain in business while also competing with Amazon and Walmart’s low prices. The anti-big business, pro-small business position is not supporting this minimum wage hike it seems.

“Amazon says that its push for a $15 minimum wage is good business. Experts say it is also a new weapon in the retail giant’s battle against rivals like Walmart. The company has been lobbying Congress to raise the federal minimum wage since 2018, when Amazon raised its starting wage to at least $15 per hour. Following the election of President Joe Biden, Amazon has thrown its support behind the Raise the Wage Act, which would bring the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour. The company is running ads in support of the new regulation everywhere from The New York Times to podcasts.”
