UN investigators say Israel continued genocidal acts in Gaza despite the ceasefire

A U.N.-mandated Commission of Inquiry reported that Israel continued committing acts it characterized as genocide in Gaza after the October 2025 ceasefire. The commission said Israeli forces expanded their control from 53% to at least 60% of Gaza after the truce began, and that Israeli fire killed at least 196 Palestinians during that period. It also alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the West Bank. Israel rejected the report and denied the allegations. The findings could intensify international legal pressure even though the ceasefire has not ended the dispute over territory, civilian deaths or accountability.
