US Core CPI came in at 2.4%, lowest level in 66 months. If the Fed hikes the long end is going down

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO CASE FOR HIKING RATES NEXT WEEK!

On the contrary!!!

In February 2001 – one month before the onset of the Recession – the Labor Market was stronger than today.
Much stronger. Larger job creation in a much smaller Labor force. Inflation was higher. And yet the Recession began the month after – in March 2001. And inflation plummeted – as it always does in recessions.

In November 2007 – one month before the onset of the Recession – the Labor Market was stronger than today (not as strong as 2001) – and inflation was higher. And yet the economy fell into Recession – the month after in December 2007. And inflation plummeted – as it always does in recessions.

Today – Long-term UNemployment is soaring. Job creation is terrible compared to the 2001 and 2007 scenario – and inflation is LOWER (only Core PCE is higher) – and people call for a Rate Hike….

A Rate hike next week will be a crime against the consumers – and the economy!
