The data displayed for each state is a 7 day moving average of daily deaths per 1 million residents. I used a 7 day moving average so that each moving average will include every day of the week to remove variations from the weekends. Using deaths per 1 million residents instead of raw deaths allows for comparison across different states.
The states are rank ordered highest to lowest for most recent 7-day average of daily deaths. To the left of the state is a “Max” column that reflects the worst 7-day average for that state. The “% Off Peak” column is the % reduction in daily deaths from the peak value reported.
