This whole “people can’t prove who they are” thing is lazy nonsense. If you changed your name you already filed a marriage certificate or court order, you already sent Form SS 5 to Social Security, and you already updated your driver’s license at the DMV, which means the government literally has multiple records tied to you. That is not oppression, that is a paper trail. Acting like showing ID is some impossible burden just insults everyone with a brain. Nobody forgets their own identity, they just don’t want scrutiny, and that tells you exactly what this fight is really about.

That's a false argument perpetrated by the Democrats. Nobody is that lazy to provide proper proof if they really want to vote.
Besides, the proper document should already be readily available to them – there's always a trace from original name on birth certificate to changed…

He says Americans don’t have the ability to get things like an ID or birth certificate

Factcheck:
The SAVE Act accepts several forms of proof of citizenship besides passports, including REAL ID-compliant IDs, birth certificates, military IDs with service records showing U.S. birth, naturalization certificates, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, and certain tribal cards.
