CNN’s pivot: John Malone

Another member pointed this out to me recently – here’s the details on the probable reason for CNN’s pivot: new ownership.

CNN’s left-wing bias may become a thing of the past when it is spun off to Discovery later this year, with the largest shareholder of the network’s new owners eager to restore it to impartiality.

John Malone, a billionaire Trump donor, is the CEO of Liberty Media, Discovery’s largest shareholder. He retains a 25 percent voting share in Discovery, which will take control of WarnerMedia and its assets –  including CNN – later this year.

With Jeff Zucker gone, that seems more likely than ever.

I’m guessing that the corporate-politically savvy news directors are in the process of pivoting in advance, in order to avoid being fired the same way that Zucker was shown the door due to his “affair” (but really, because he wasn’t aligned with the new management, and this was an easy way to encourage him to move on with minimum fuss.)

Plus, firing Zucker (due to “policy”) served a second purpose: “kill a chicken, to scare the monkeys.”  So all the pivoting is happening – self-imposed by the same people that shamelessly brought you Russia! Russia!  Russia! – prior to the new management taking over.

Must suck for the people on that Jan 6th committee.  No Air Cover For You!

My takeaway from this: ownership matters.  A lot.
