Everyone is talking about the EU’s Article 13- we should really be worried about Article 11.

Article 11 states that search engines and news aggregate platforms should pay to use links from news websites.

This ramifications of this, with regards to unbiased and non-profit news organisations (and again the term ‘news’ could be liberally applied to most free-thinking sites) is astoundingly dire.

‘Article 11, or what’s come to be known as the “link tax,” requires web platforms to obtain a license to link to or use snippets of news articles.’

This literally puts the ability to search for factual content in the hands of the government.

This is really very bad.
