Forward P/E chart frames tech as cheap by using raised earnings estimates while omitting elevated trailing multiples

The posts show technology forward P/E at 18.4x, below the 5-year average of 25.3x and 10-year average of 23.0x, and free cash flow for Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft and Amazon rising to about $640 billion by 2030. Late-October data put Info Tech forward P/E at 19–21x. Bloomberg consensus matches the cash-flow projection for those four firms. The numbers on the charts are accurate.

Trailing P/E for technology was near 38x and CAPE near 73x in September data. Forward P/E is lower because analysts raised earnings forecasts; price divided by next year’s higher estimates produces a smaller multiple than price divided by last year’s actual earnings. The cash-flow chart covers only four Mag7 names and shows free cash flow compressed in 2026–2027 from AI spending before the later rise. The posts use real consensus data. Selecting the forward multiple that incorporates the raised estimates, while omitting the higher trailing measures and the near-term trough, is the framing.
