Questions are being raised over the growing links between Facebook and the US government.
That as the social media giant announced it’s hired the State Department’s legal advisor as its general counsel and vice president of communications. According to the company’s statement Jennifer Newstead will oversee Facebook’s global legal functions.
The new appointment comes amid unprecedented pressure on Facebook to tackle the spread of misinformation and fake news on its platform.
