Iran’s Bombshell: Israelis Made Attack on Mecca, Not the Houthis

Iran has challenged Saudi Arabia’s claim that the Houthis tried to target Mecca, warning that responsibility cannot be established simply from the interception of a drone near the holy city.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei condemned any threat to Mecca, Medina or Al-Aqsa but also invoked what Tehran describes as previous “false flag” operations aimed at creating divisions among Muslim countries and diverting attention from actions by Israel and the United States. The Houthis have denied targeting Mecca.
