“The Tennessee State Senate expelled one of their own after being convicted of fraud—the Senator, a Black, female, Democrat, alleges her expulsion was racially motivated. According to a local Fox News affiliate, Federal authorities charged Robinson with stealing more than $600,000 from federal grants received by a health care school she directed. She allegedly used those funds to pay for her wedding and other personal expenses. At the time, Robinson referred to her conviction as “one of the most discriminatory, misogynistic, racist, and partisan hearings against a prominent state Senator in Tennessee.””
