The only reason the Fed still exists in its present form is because the public remains woefully ignorant to the fact that the Fed has been the greatest driver of wealth inequality.

And politicians of both parties won't touch the subject as they explicitly benefit from the Fed not only in their own personal portfolios but also because the Fed has been doing the dirty work for them by substituting needed structural reforms with cheap money make belief fixes.
