The Trump administration pioneered the dumb idea of over relying on the US dollar’s status as a global reserve currency to intimidate other nations.
The end result is people are already moving to switch to Euros, Chinese money, even talks of Bitcoin or something like it.
US imperial strategy, which combines military might with massive economic subsidies (what “free trade” actually is) is unsustainable because it is making people at home footing the bill of zionist world domination angry and radical.
The people in the Biden administration appear to be trying to balance this dilemma. Doubt it will work.
I can see them being pragmatic enough to try and mend ties with Russia in the short and medium term to focus on what they perceive as more urgent threats (China, Iran, etc).
