A popular tourist attraction has collapsed in Puerto Rico after a 5.8 magnitude earthquake and several aftershocks struck Guayanilla on Monday.
Punta Ventana (Window Point) is a natural rock formation that was created by a variety of factors including mineral and rock composition and centuries of ocean waves crashing against the structure.
The stone arch that resembles a window is one of the biggest tourism draws of Guayanilla and residents are concerned about the loss of a longstanding icon.
The student-run meteorological laboratory at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez tweeted before and after images of Punta Ventana that show how the landscape is permanently changed.
